the SPARK 126 ~ My new “build in public” project

the SPARK Newsletter

Hi, {{ subscriber.first_name }},

It’s been a long time since I’ve been this excited about my business.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve loved what I do since I started (way back in 2008) – but the way things are changing and growing right now was the fuel I didn’t know I needed. 🔥

Yes, I’m talking about AI and ChatGPT.

Before I go any further, here’s a graphic I created that explains what I’m doing:

My Brain + ChatGPT

I feel like ChatGPT is the business partner I’ve always wanted. It’s helping me process ideas and clarify messages.

So much so that I’ve decided I’m going to “test” a build-in public project (hat tip to Kevon Cheung for the inspiration on build in public!).

Here’s the prompting I used to get the ball rolling:

Good evening! I have an idea and I’d love your help executing it. 🙂

I’d like to revamp my personal brand and website: https://kimdoyal.com

I’m going to redo the copy, messaging, and content. I’d like to do this in a “build in public” manner.

My focus on my personal brand is email marketing, newsletters, and now AI (ChatGPT). My idea is to do the revamp (for lack of a better word), in public using ChatGPT.

This will be an ongoing project and I’m sure it will have lots of iterations. I’ll be doing some of this on live stream as well. My goal is to educate, entertain, and inspire people on this journey. Where should we start?

I’m sharing this with you for two reasons:

1) Accountability: Now that I’ve shared this “out loud” – it’s game on.

2) Inspiration: I want to share everything I’m doing with ChatGPT to inspire you to use it in whatever way it works for you. If what I do gives you even ONE idea that gets you unstuck – it’s worth it.

However, something else has popped up.

Imposter Syndrome is rearing its ugly head… BIG TIME.

I had all kinds of ego-based thoughts pop up (and continue to pop up as I step outside of my comfort zone):

  • what will people think? (the AI naysayers or people who think it’s just another shiny object)
  • am I jumping on a bandwagon?
  • who am I to…

You get the point.

So I’ve hit each of those thoughts head-on with logic, enthusiasm, and most importantly, my heart.

Logic: AI is here to stay, I’ve found a way to make it work for me, and it’s getting me the results I want.

Enthusiasm: I truly feel like a little kid who has discovered a new ability and I’m sharing it. Completely in alignment.

Heart: My intention is 100% lined up with what I’m doing and nothing that feels this good and is this fun could be wrong.

What I won’t be doing is abandoning everything I’m doing.

I’m simply looking at new ways to do things differently.

And… if it’s not fun, I’m not doing it. 😉

Mama didn't raise no two trip loser

As busy as this week has been, it’s been pretty great. The skies are blue, the weather is warmer, and I’m having a blast with everything I’m doing.

I hosted my first Conversations with ChatGPT workshop earlier this week and it went fabulously well, if I do say so myself. But don’t take my word for it…

I’ll be sending out a link to the workshop tomorrow to purchase if you weren’t able to get in this first time.

In the meantime… stay tuned for my “build in public” project.

Have a fantastic day my friends,

Kim
