Segmenting, Live Streaming and Plugin Awesomeness
Here we are…
Another awesome Monday morning.
I made a conscious decision about an hour ago to get into the right frame of mind for my day.
Just like you, I’ve got some ‘stuff’ going on in my life.
And just like you I’ve realized there will always be stuff going on in life. It’s just life.
So… I’m channeling my inner Pollyanna and choosing to have a phenomenal day.
First task on my to-do list?
This email of course.
As you guys know I’ve more or less gotten over myself when it comes to live streaming (I made way more of a mountain out of a molehill with it). I’ve done a few now and have loved each of them. I know without a doubt this is going to be part on my ongoing content strategy moving forward.
Live streaming is content and connection at its finest.
Here’s what I’ve done.
First, I’ve created a unique landing page for live stream notifications (I’ll have a lead magnet here soon-ish). I used the Thrive Content Builder for this page and Thrive leads for the lightbox (and by the way, if you have Thrive and want this page template I’m happy to share it. Just respond to this email and I’ll send you the zip file).
I’ve got two live streams this week! WOOHOO!
The first is this Wednesday at 10 am PST / 1pm EST with none other than Matt Medeiros of The Matt Report and Conductor plugin.
Matt is one of those people that also ‘shows up’ in all that he does and is pretty brilliant when it comes to WordPress. He’s going to demo the updates to his Conductor plugin (awesome for content) and show you how you can now integrate it with Beaver Builder.
AND… he’s got a couple licenses for Conductor that he’s going to give away (see? I told you this was going to be fun).

The other live stream will be this Friday at 11am PST. This is a celebration of having reached 150 episodes on the podcast. I’ve got a few giveaways for live attendees also (thanks to some of my friends in this space!).What I’m doing with these live streams:
First, all will be posted as content on my site after the live event (ideally within 24 hours). Depending on the live stream, I may have it transcribed. Then I can share the transcripts, audio & video with my guest (if I have a guest) and they want to post it as content on their site.
Once I have enough shows to warrant a page, I’ll do a page on my site just for live streams (simply a different format with a call to action. Yep, I’ll be using Beaver Builder for this).
Lastly, I’ll be setting up an events page on my website with links to upcoming shows (and will include the podcast episodes that will be airing as well).
ALL of this is a test.
I’m sure some of it will work and some of it won’t, but I won’t know if I don’t try, right?
What does this have to do with segmenting?
You’re going to hear me talking about segmenting a lot moving forward. There are so many possibilities for segmenting your subscribers, retargeting, automation, showing the right message to the right people, etc., it’s just a matter of taking the time to understand how powerful all of this is.
I’ve been getting a wee bit obsessed about this and have started implementing things already. I’ll be sharing a lot of this with you on Friday’s live stream.
I’ve got a lot of work to do to get the foundation set for this but I know without a doubt it’s going to be a game changer.
Don’t miss these awesome events this week.
