My ‘Other’ Netflix Habit
We’re less than a week away from September… four short months and 2017 is behind us.
Kind of crazy, huh?
On one hand, Christmas seems miles away (thankfully) because it’s still roasting here. On the other hand, time seems to be flying by (wasn’t it just June?). If you haven’t already, it’s time to start thinking about how you want to end this year. I’ve started planning what I want to happen over the next four months.
That’s when I realized the benefit of my ‘other’ Netflix habit.
O.K., it’s not really another Netflix habit… but it’s kind of like a Netflix habit.
I’m talking about binge-watching, or in this case, binge consuming of content. A more sane way of looking at this habit could also be called immersion (here we go with that mastery stuff again).
I realized that just like binge-watching Netflix shows, I do the same thing with content. But it’s on ONE topic, not whatever topic is the hot topic of the moment.
In my desire to focus (which was a commitment to myself) this choice to do the ‘right work’ and finish what I start is really starting to pay off. I’m able to accomplish so much more in less time because I’m not struggling through the copy (well…. I still struggle with the copy a little, but the process has become fun at least), what to create, how to position it, or who to market to.
I have a tendency to do this immersion in all areas of my life, but mostly marketing and spirituality.
Pretty much all I’m listening to, reading, or watching is solely around marketing and the exact things I’m doing in my business right now. None of this is forced, it’s simply a choice. It’s FUN for me.
Here are a few questions for you:
– What are YOU listening to, reading, watching?
– What conversations are you having online?
– How are you showing up?
– What messaging is resonating with you?
Really think about those things for a minute.
If you’re not feeling great in your business, this is a good place to start. When we get that we’re responsible for how we feel and what we choose to focus on, things can change in an instant.
I’m getting pretty close to a zero tolerance policy in my life.
Zero tolerance for things that don’t lift me up, make me feel better or inspire me to move closer to what I want in my life. That might be people, websites, books, shows, movies…whatever. ENOUGH.
Don’t get me wrong, we all need a good vent every now and then, but if we’re not careful this can become our status quo.
I went pretty deep into this on this weeks episode of the podcast.
Something hit me and I was inspired to run with it (one of the easiest 1800 word posts I’ve written in a while. When things flow like this I know I’m on the right path).

Remember you guys, YOU get to choose.
You get to choose what you do, how you want to feel, what you focus on, and most importantly, who you want to be in your business.
Now I’m back to a little more binge listening while I get ready to take this day on! I’ve got more video to shoot, a test webinar to run and some content to get into Kajabi!
Choose to have an amazing day!
