It Takes Courage to Be Who You Really Are KDS:059
I love it when one thing I’ve done inspires more content, a new conversation, and provides more validation for the path I’m on (which is truly about trusting myself).
I asked Allegra to join me for a conversation after I launched my #FtheHustle newsletter.
When I launched the newsletter it was one of those “divine hits.”
I had come up with the term & hashtag a good 4 years ago, but wasn’t quite sure what to do with it.
I had wanted to launch a newsletter for a while, but wasn’t sure what that was going to look like, which is why I took my time. I’m at a point in my life and business where I don’t push things just to get them out the door.
First, it needs to feel good in my body. When it feels good in my body I know I’m on the right path.
When I remembered #FtheHustle I knew instantly that I was going to use it for my newsletter.
Right before I launched the newsletter I had one friend tell me that maybe it would offend people or some people wouldn’t like it.
The very same day he said that I received a handful of emails from people saying they LOVED #FtheHustle.
As soon as I launched it, I received two emails from people who weren’t fond of it and told me so. Both people were respectful about it and I appreciated it, but it didn’t carry any weight or cause me to abandon what I knew in my gut was right.
At the same time, I received (and continue to receive), multiple emails from people saying how much they love it and look forward to it every week.
You HAVE to trust your gut and stop listening to the masses.
I had sent Allegra a vox (via the app Voxer), and shared that I had received those emails.
The response from Allegra lit something in me.
The long and short of it was that she said DO YOU.
She said, “It costs you to not be who you are.”
You have to decide what price you’re willing to pay… and let it be the price you pay to go for what you WANT.
I know this is a shorter post for this episode, but you really need to listen to the full episode to get the magic that occurred with this converation.
