Welcome to the first issue of the #FtheHustle newsletter! 🥳

I am super excited to be bringing this to life. I came up with this phrase years ago and for one reason or another the timing wasn’t right.

Then recently when I was revisiting a few things for my brand it was like a ton of bricks hit me upside the head.

I knew exactly what to do with the phrase.

First, if you’re not sure what #FtheHustle is all about, I wrote a full post on what it means and why I think we need this now more than ever.

I’m a firm believer in hard work and mastery, but not at the expense of everything else in my life.

The best part about #FtheHustle is that you can still create what you want, without burning yourself out.

Without further ado, let’s jump into it!

A little Brainpower 🧠

It might seem a little contrary that in a newsletter titled #FtheHustle I’m sharing an article about getting more done in less time, but I am. It’s all about the “Flow state” state. Read “How to Get More Done in Less Time by Reaching Flow State.”​

I used to have this phrase taped to my computer: “No is a complete sentence” … which was a completely foreign concept to me at the time. Have you ever wondered why we explain ourselves when we say “No” but never explain ourselves when we say “Yes?” Listen to “It’s O.K. to Say No” by Matt Davies on the Nurture Flow podcast.

Tool Time 🛠

I have to admit, I’m much better than I used to be about finding new tools and going down a crazy rabbit hole, but I still love my tools! I’ll share tools I’m using, have tried, or are being used by people I know.

For Your Viewing Pleasure 📹

I hadn’t ever heard of this term before, but my friend Jimmy Rose created a short video about increasing motivation and productivity with a “mental deload week” (I guess it’s a common term in weight lifting). I don’t know about you, but every time I take time for me I have a renewed energy for my business. Watch how to “deload” with Jimmy Rose here.​

Goals vs. Intentions​
This video really resonates with me… and is in complete alignment with the #FtheHustle movement (yep, I’ve decided it’s a movement). Trevor Blake, who grew 3 companies working from home 5 hours a day (and then sold them for $600 million), says goal setting as we know it is dead.

Because we all need more books 📕

Ryan Daniel Moran is the founder of Capitalism.com and has recently published his book called “12 Months to $1 Million: How to Pick a Winning Product, Build a Real Business, and Become a Seven-Figure Entrepreneur.” Now, before you think this is a cheesy internet marketing gimmick, it’s not. Full of insights and stories on finding physical products, building an e-commerce company, and growing a brand. Definitely worth reading.​
