#FtheHUSTLE ~ 081 – A Little Nervous, but Here We GO!
June 2, 2022 June 16, 2022 /
Have you ever had one of those moments that feels like a switch has been flipped? undefined💡
When you knew, without a shadow of a doubt, that somehow things were going to be different?
The first time I remember having one of those moments I was around 21 years old. I was going to college and working full time for a bookstore chain as an assistant manager.
I had always been an avid reader (mainly fiction) but it was about that time that I started getting into business and self-help. Somehow I found my way to a little book that I devoured in one afternoon (it’s all of 76 pages).
The Greatest Salesman in the World, by Og Mandino.
This book completely opened my eyes.
It’s more of a parable… based on 10 “ancient scrolls” that are ways to live your life (if you like “The Alchemist” you’ll like this).
Here’s one of the quotes from the book that grabbed me:
“Reach for the moon, even if you fall short, you’ll land amongst the stars.”
Reading that book woke something up inside of me and I realized that there was another way to think about things.
Another way to live and approach my life that wasn’t defined by societal expectations.
Little did I know it would take 17 more years and the tragedy of losing my husband at 32 to start making significant changes… even though I continued searching, trying, and consuming anything I could get my hands on that would open a new door for me.
I’m sharing this because I’ve recently had another one of those “moments.”
And it ties in directly with this newsletter.
#FtheHUSTLE was “born” 6 years ago when I became fed up with the entrepreneurial mantra to “hustle.”
It’s bullsh*t.
And I’m ready to step more fully into what #FtheHUSTLE means and how we can create and achieve what we want… on our OWN terms.
You’ll see a few changes in the newsletter (I’m still staying focused on the digital marketing space, but you’ll see more of the mindset, psychology, and life in Costa Rica content coming too) as well as new offers down the road.
I’ll share more as things become clearer (including a new site & brand, dedicated solely to email marketing… products AND services! 😲), but for now…
I’m simply enjoying the moment!
A Little Brainpower 🧠
Justin Welsh is one of my favorite people right now. I love his tweets and newsletter. He recently shared a thread on a 7-step process for telling a more compelling backstory for podcasts. Read his process here.

This struck a nerve with me with the unfolding of recent events (more FtheHUSTLE). Steven Pressfield reminds us again that it’s our dedication to the journey that matters. Read “The Muse tests us.”

Tool Time 🛠
I’ve actually dipped my toes into a new-to-me tool this week for publishing! I’m testing Ghost.org for the new site dedicated to email. It’s pretty early on, but so far I’m loving it!
- Funnels: Even though I’m not a huge fan of WooCommerce, this looks pretty slick. Check out SellKit Funnel Builder for Woo.
- E-commerce: A store for creators… built for mobile! Sell digital products, coaching sessions and more. Try Stan for 14 days free here.
- Linkedin: From the team that brought you Tweethunter, find inspiration, create posts, and schedule Linkedin updates. Try Taplio free here.
- Video: I tested this last week for my first TikTok (more coming) and love the ease of creating on a desktop (trying to save my wrists from repetitive phone use). Use Veed.io for free here.
HAHA… I’ve accepted that I really shouldn’t own succulents… 🤣

I forgot about this!
Much like I ‘rediscovered’ FtheHUSTLE in a dropbox folder (I came up with the name 6 years ago), I came across a ‘test’ I had taken 8 years ago.
It’s called the “Wealth Dynamics” test (it’s paid, not an affiliate link). It generates a 32-page report that goes deep into your primary & secondary wealth profile.

My primary profile is Dynamo – the Star & Creator (which wasn’t really a surprise). I’m sharing this because looking at this (so many years later), I feel like I’ve come full circle.
And I’m excited to see where this takes me.
Happy Anniversary to me! 🏖🌴🥳
I have officially been in Costa Rica for a year! It’s been an amazing first year… here’s to many more! 🍹
Have a wonderful day,
Kim
