#FtheHUSTLE ~ 060 – What’s Your Time Lottery?

FtheHustle Newsletter

You probably have a handful of things in your business you’re not super fond of doing.

In fact, if I asked you what the top 5 things are that you’d happily hand off to someone else you could probably rattle them off pretty quickly.

The “time lottery” tasks are the ones that you don’t necessarily mind doing, but when they get canceled or you don’t have to do them you feel like you’ve won the “time lottery.”

*Kind of like when social plans are canceled… or is that just me?* ðŸ˜‚

For me, the time lottery is when calls are canceled.

Even though… I love the people I talk with or have scheduled calls with and am usually left feeling really inspired.

It seems contrary, doesn’t it?

90% of my calls are coaching, teaching, or collaborations. ALL by choice.

I’ve reached a point in my business where I don’t work with people I don’t genuinely like (as in, I’d happily hang out and have a beer with them).

So why is it that every time a call is canceled I feel like I won the time lottery?

After much pondering, I think I’ve come to the realization that the majority of what I do in my business requires “me.”

Meaning, it’s not something I can do passively without my name, face, or personality.

As much as I enjoy all that I do, being “on” requires a completely different level of energy than quietly creating something in the background.

The goal is to create systems, processes, and marketing campaigns that do most of the work.

Most people who know me would probably think of me as an extrovert and pretty outgoing.

When I was younger that may have been true, but I’m not so sure anymore.

I honestly don’t know where I fall in terms of the whole introvert/extrovert/ambivert scale (an ambivert is a balance of introvert & extrovert).

What I do know is that 2022 is all about shifting what requires “me” and what I can do quietly in the background (such as an e-commerce brand that has nothing to do with me personally).

Here’s your opportunity: Write down anything that makes you feel like you’ve won the “time lottery” and see how it fits into the big picture of your business.

  • Can you do less of it?
  • Can you outsource it?
  • Can you stop doing it altogether?

I’d love to hear what your time lottery is, hit reply and let me know!

My Year in Review Podcast

#FtheHUSTLE Podcast2021 was certainly a crazy year, but so much good came out of it too! I had a lot of fun doing a look back for this episode and sharing what’s coming in 2022.

A little reminder from an amazing woman, RIP Betty White!

Betty White

I hope your 2022 is off to a great start!

Remember that it’s a marathon, not a sprint.

If you’ve had a hard time getting back into the swing of things this week give yourself a little grace.

It takes me a couple of weeks to get back into my normal rhythm after traveling and this last time was no exception.

I’m looking forward to all this year has in store.

Have a fabulous day,

Kim
