#FtheHustle ~ 053 – “I Don’t Remember… We Suck” π€£
November 18, 2021 December 4, 2021 /
Have you ever had one of those moments where someone says something so matter-of-factly that it takes a second for it to sink in?
That’s what happened with the subject line. β¬
I was on a call last week with Jodi (my business partner for the Content Creators Planner) and we were going over what we’re doing for our Black Friday Cyber Monday promotions.
We had talked about it a week or two before… but neither of us remembered what we had discussed.
That’s when Jodi said,Β “I don’t remember… we suck.”Β π€£
At which point we both kinda lost it.
Anyone else feeling that right now?
So much to do and not “so much time” to do it in.
On a call with my coach today I realized I’ll be leaving for California for Christmas in a month. And then gone for two weeks.
So we did something super simple, but incredibly powerful.
I opened my calendar and we scheduled in blocks of time to get specific tasks completed.
I realized how much work I had to do in the next week as well as the 3 weeks after and it hit me.
Like a ton of bricks… albeit the next day.
There is NOTHING about this that feels like #FtheHUSTLE.
What the actual bucket am I doing?!
So I took it a step further.
And pulled the plug on something I’ve been working on for months.
Instant relief.
I had shared a few weeks ago that I had pushed the launch date on a community (the FtheHUSTLE community to be exact). Well… now it’s on pause.
Until I decide otherwise and I’m clearer on how that fits into what I want my life to look like.
I was holding on to this commitment for a number of reasons – most of which weren’t for me (and really weren’t for anyone else either, that was just a story I made up in my head).
I’m going to keep doing what’s working…
I LOVE doing the small group cohort training like I’ve been doing with Email Insiders.
I definitely see more to come with FtheHUSTLE, it just may look a little different.
Don’t be afraid to change your mind… it’s YOUR business.

A Little Brainpower π§
I recently had a coaching client suggest to me that I should be doing more videos, specifically Instagram videos (and repurpose my podcast). I’m not against it, I just want to make sure I have the bandwidth (see aboveΒ π). This makes me want to test IG Reels.Β Read “7 Lessons I Learned After My Reel Got 76.9k Views” by Kirsten LaRee here.β

There is SO much I love about this! It goes along with the recent article I shared about the nonsense that is personal branding (see below). With so many channels and places to consume information/content, it often feels like whoever is the loudest wins. Maybe that’s changing? Tool TimeΒ π
I found one tool that I just might be doubling down on this week… and yes, it has to do with newsletters! When guys behind “The Morning Brew” launch a newsletter platform, you pay attention! There is a method to my madness, which I’ll be sharing shortly (why I’m interested in testing newsletter platforms vs. simply using ConvertKit).
- Newsletters: At first I thought “another newsletter platform?” Then I saw who created it. I’ve already signed up and am going to test sending this newsletter next week. Try “beehiiv” for free for your newsletter here. β
β - Productivity: I think I’ve tried more tools than I can count when it comes to creating a “to-do” list, but this looks like a nice option if you haven’t found what works. Try Centered for free here.
β - Social Proof: There’s no lack of social proof tools available – from WordPress plugins to apps. Here’s another one with lifetime pricing that looks pretty powerful. Checkout Popkit here.β
β - Twitter: I’ve decided I’m upgrading my Hypefury account to focus more on Twitter (they’ve got some great features). Use Hypefury for free here.

Food for thought (and your ears) π§
I’ve been digging quite a bit into something that might seem a little out there but is probably one of the most important things you can do in your business. So important that I decided to record an entire podcast episode about it last week.
βListen to “Master Your Thoughts – The Most Important Thing An Entrepreneur Can Do” here.
As someone who doesn’t enjoy cooking… this is me. All-day long.π€£

Next week I’ll be sending the newsletter on Wednesday (Thursday is Thanksgiving in the U.S). I may be heading to an entrepreneurial meetup on Thursday morning here in Costa Rica – I’ll let you know how that goes!
Lastly…
Whether or not you’re participating in Black Friday Cyber Monday for your business doesn’t really matter.
The sales are nice, but only you can decide if the extra work and energy are worth it (provided you have something ready to go).
If not, I hope you enjoy the weekend and pick up some deals if you feel inclined to do so!
Have a fabulous day,
Kim
