#FtheHustle ~ 049 – New Level, New Devil 😈
October 21, 2021 October 29, 2021 /
You can probably tell by my Halloween icon in the logo that I’m doing whatever I can to embrace this time of year down here (here being Costa Rica for those of you who are new).
It’s so bizarre getting on Zoom with people and seeing them bundled in sweatshirts and cozy fall attire when I’m sitting here in a tank top and shorts still. 😜
I’m certainly not complaining… but as someone who loves this time of year and the holidays, it’s a little odd to experience this time of year and have it feel like summer.
Moving on…
I have to give credit for the term “new level, new devil” to my good friend Allegra. The first time she said it was like a lightbulb moment for me.
Just when we think we’ve conquered something or changed our behavior, something shows up to remind us that in order to grow we have to KEEP working on all this sh*t.
It could be a mindset/behavior thing or it could be that you’ve finally created a funnel/email sequence/landing page that is converting.
Once you’ve done that, I can guarantee that something else will show up to remind you to “slow down buttercup, you’re not Yoda yet.”
Seriously…
I had a couple of situations last week where I was practically breaking my arm patting myself on the back and felt like Gandalf and Dumbledore all rolled into one great sage. ⚡
I was going about my merry way and then BAM!
Something else shows up to remind me that it’s a process.
Not an event.
However, because of this understanding, I’ve gotten better at mastering my mind and being easy about things (speaking of easy, have you heard Adele’s new song “Easy On Me”? I LOVE it).
It doesn’t always happen right away, but I get there eventually.
Most of the time it’s because I have people to talk to and can share where I’m at and what I’m going through.
The magic is in having these people in your life who you can share with and will support you through the growth – as opposed to staying stuck in the storytelling.
People who will challenge you to take responsibility for your role in whatever is happening, without judgment.
Whatever is going on in your life or business (or both), be easy about it and lean in hard to those who support you and want to see you thrive.
A Little Brainpower 🧠
I have to admit… LinkedIn is the social platform I use the least (I should say of the ones I’m active on). However, with their added functionality of posting newsletters I think I may start engaging more. Here’s a great article on “How to Promote a Blog on LinkedIn” from RafflePress.

You all know I love email marketing. It’s truly the only thing I regret not doing sooner (and why I think it’s the best thing you do for your business). Here’s a great Twitter thread by Chase Diamond (who specializes in email for e-commerce brands): “31 email marketing tips that will make you money in 5 minutes or less.”

Tool Time 🛠
Sometimes it amazes me that I can find new tools… literally every week, there’s no shortage. Here’s this week’s selection:
- Images: I tested this one and it works great! You just have to take a few swipes at the element you want to remove. Use this tool to remove specific elements from photos in a few quick swipes. Use CleanUp.pictures free here.
- Video: I haven’t tried this, but it looks interesting. The majority of the video I do is either live or with a course (where I have free video hosting). This is for video hosting, creation, editing, and email . Try “Show” by Animaker free here.
- Passwords: I should probably start using something like this, at least for sites that I need tighter security on. Best part? It’s free. Use Betterpass for free here to generate strong passwords.
- Audio: If you’ve ever wanted to offer an audio version of your blog post, this tool might just do the trick. The voices don’t sound too bad and it increases accessibility. Try BlogAudio free here.
Wisdom and humor in one image. I love it … 🤣

So…
I mentioned I’ve been using Excalidraw a LOT for myself, my coaching clients, and for all the Email Insiders. I have fallen in love with this tool and the entire mapping process.
I’ve done business mapping, offer mapping, email mapping… it’s a blast and it creates massive clarity.
SO… I think I’m going to offer mapping sessions in the next week, so stay tuned for that too (this is a 1:1 session with me, and I do the mapping for you while we talk it through).
Have a fantastic day and enjoy the fall crisp weather for me. 🍁🍂
