#FtheHustle ~ 031 – My First Week in Costa Rica

I MADE IT!

I’ve officially been in Costa Rica for a week now.

It was both a busy and relaxing week. My daughter came with me (she went home yesterday) and so we tried to get as much done in terms of getting my place situated, seeing as much as we could, and getting some much needed relaxation in.

I’ll be doing a full post & podcast episode in the next week on the move (and all the fun snafu’s that happen when making big life changes… because it’s all part of it, isn’t it?), but today is my first day attempting to work.

I say attempting because things are a little chaotic at my place right now.

I have someone here cleaning (and will probably have her weekly since the price is amazing… it’s a win-win for her and I), someone working on the refrigerator (it was taking about 3 days to freeze a tray of ice cubes), and I’m adding fiber optic internet, so those guys are here too.

They’re also cutting tree branches down outside my window, which is amazing because my view just got better (picture below).

I’ll do a video tour of my place when it’s all done.

I’m having a few walls painted and will be getting some decor and once that’s done, then it’s time to do some video.

I’m still in awe that I’m actually here.

As amazing and beautiful as this country & people are, I have enough life experience to know it’s going to take a bit to get into a routine.

I’m also preparing myself for the emotions that will come (as much as I’d like to think it will all be smooth sailing, at this point in my life I know better).

You can apply these same principles in your business.

Jump in, go for what you want, but allow the process to unfold without judgment, or giving into any fear and emotions that come up.

Feel it, but know that they’ll pass.

Just this morning I felt a little weepy…

I know it’s a combination of a lot of things but the main feeling right now is sheer exhaustion.

And that’s O.K.

I have SO much to be grateful for… including YOU!

I appreciate you being on this journey with me. Next week I’ll get back into my “normal programming.”

There’s quite a bit of exciting things to share on the business front.

Now let’s get into the goodies!

A Little Brainpower 🧠

This is one for ALL of us. I’d love to say I’ve mastered this challenge, but overthinking is something I’ll probably be working on for the rest of my life. Read “Why Intelligent, Ambitious People Often Fail in Online Business” by Nick Wolny here.

I freaking LOVE the “Creator Economy”… not just because it’s how I make my living, but because it presents massive opportunity for all creators. You truly can create a business that supports your lifestyle if you’re willing to do the work. Read “How to Earn Residual Income by Joining the ‘Creator Economy'” by August Birch here.

Tool Time  🛠

I have lots of catching up to do with tools! Being offline for a week+ there is PLENTY to review!

  • Podcasting: My podcast host, Captivate, has just released version 2.0 and man is it pretty! New UI, custom trackable short links, redesigned analytics and more! Check out Captivate 2.0 here.
  • Scheduling: Yep, another calendar and scheduling tool! This looks really clean, super easy to use, and of course, has a free plan as well. Try Koalendar for your appointments here.
  • Documentation/processes: If you’re looking for a way to share a process or create documentation, look no further. Create step-by-step guides for processes. Try Scribe free here.
  • Selling: looking for an easier way to sell digital products from your website? This might be the solution you were looking for! You can do single payments, subscriptions, and deliver files. Take a look at Checkout Page here.

Is it just me or does Paul Rudd never seem to age? 🤣

Final thoughts…

That’s all for today my friends!

I’ll be back with more next week, including a new podcast episode and updates on business in general.

Have a fantastic day!
