#FtheHustle ~ 026 – It’s Like the Wild, Wild, West

“Ch-ch-ch-changes…” ðŸŽ¶

I don’t know about you, but it feels like there is a lot of change happening in the online space.

Obviously, after last year, the world has gone through and is still going through some serious upheaval and change, but that’s not what I’m referring to.

It’s been a long time since the online space has felt like this… and it’s a good thing.

With privacy issues and advertising (er… Apple and Facebook fighting), taking a hit, we’re seeing some disruption with how things are done.

Ads that used to work really well on Facebook are costing more and not working as well.

The changes in the marketplace are forcing innovation, and it’s exciting.

It kind of feels like what I imagine the wild west must have felt like.

“There’s gold in them thar’ hills!” ðŸ’°

And it’s up to YOU to mine it.

All of the social platforms are going to have make some changes and create new ad products, not to mention taking a hard look at what is happening with organic reach.

If they want people to continue creating content for free on their platforms, they’re going to have to make it worth our time.

This is piggybacking off of last week’s issue where we talked a little about the Creator Economy.

There are SO many opportunities available right now!

Pick what lights you up the most and go all in!

Test and try new things or new ways of doing things. The market is ripe for disruption and people are craving something different.

Different can be as simple as going back to “old school” marketing strategies… like joint ventures, having actual conversations, and knocking on doors (so to speak…i.e, outreach).

A couple of days ago I posted in Content Creators that we’re going to start offering collaborations. We want to bring people together to connect with one another to help find opportunities for collaboration and joint ventures.

We’ve built a community of over 8,000 people… there’s no reason we can’t find some solid partnership opportunities, right?

This is only one example. Start thinking outside of the box and have some fun!

Speaking of fun, let’s get into the goodies, shall we?

Just the Tip ðŸ’¡

One of the smartest things I’ve done in the last few months was to bring together a handful of people with a like-minded goal to create our own private mastermind. I’ve paid for masterminds in the past (totally worth it), but wanted to create something different. This was for ONE specific element of business. We hold each other accountable, meet twice a month, set goals, and move the needle forward. Best thing ever.

A Little Brainpower ðŸ§

You probably know this feeling. You spent all this time creating what you think is an “epic” post, spent hours crafting great content based on keywords, picked just right images… AND… nothin. This might help you figure out why. Read “Why Aren’t My Posts being Shared on Social Media” by the WP Steward here.

Still on the fence about newsletters? This writer got a sneak peek into the upcoming Facebook newsletter platform (yes, you can write your newsletter on Facebook and monetize it). My biggest takeaway was that he thinks it “will actually be a huge boon for individual writers rather than journalists.” Read “I Got a Sneak Preview of Facebook’s Paid Writing Platform” by Sean Kernan here.
