#FtheHustle Newsletter

Do you remember that feeling when you were a kid and you were struggling with something, whether it was school, sports, or simply an activity you loved and you FINALLY got it right? (I remember when I “nailed” the flip turn for the swim team… victory was mine!).

It feels almost like the clouds have parted and you can hear angels singing.

It’s that simple feeling of “YES! I did it!”

Unless you’re pursuing new things in business (or your life) on a regular basis you’re probably not experiencing that feeling as frequently as an adult.

But when you do?

It’s golden. ⭐

I’m beyond giddy that I got to experience that last week. I’ve been sort of savoring that feeling and sitting in the deliciousness of it all.

I had been putting off pulling the trigger on something for a while and couldn’t quite put my finger on what it was. I’m not someone who is afraid of doing the work, so I knew that wasn’t it.

I hopped on a call with a friend last week who was also in sort of a “pondering space” so-to-speak and after the call, I felt like the weight of the world had been lifted off my shoulders (he did too).

And I felt like that kid again who finally figured something out.

In this case, it was for my business (which is why I’m sharing it with you).

I found massive clarity.

When I moved to my personal brand from The WordPress Chick a few years ago I was focusing on content marketing. It seemed like a natural transition and I loved it (still do).

Then I launched the Content Creators Planner with Jodi and started feeling like I was competing with myself (should I publish this here or there?).

Because I’ve dealt with some hugely challenging things in my personal life the last few years I wasn’t in a rush to force figuring it out, but the fog has lifted.

It’s time to #JustShowUP again.

I’ve decided that I’m going to go ALL in on all things email marketing, list building, newsletters, and anything else that excites me under that umbrella.

Anything I do that is content marketing related will be done through the Content Creators Planner brand.

I’ve got another exciting announcement to share around that next week (not quite ready), but I’ll be sharing that journey publicly as well.

After all, #EverythingIsContent, right?

A Little Brainpower 🧠

It was hard to pick which articles to share this week, there certainly wasn’t a shortage of quality content!

We’ve seen Twitter enter the newsletter space by their recent purchase of Revue… it looks like Facebook is planning to get into the game as well. Read “Lookout Substack, Facebook, and Twitter Launching Newsletters” by Linda Caroll.

This one really spoke to me. In an age where we can take anything we love and turn it into a business, sometimes it’s good to remember that we can pursue hobbies simply for enjoyment. Read “Why I Plan to Work Less and Hobby More” by Felicia Sullivan.

Tool Time  🛠

O.K., I know I know I shared this last week, but it bears repeating.

  • Conversion.ai is probably the best AI tool I’ve tried (not that I’ve tried them all). I am super excited to see this tool develop more. In the past week, I’ve come across 3 additional AI tools. Not quite ready to replace humans, but such a great headstartCheckout Conversion.ai here.
  • Subject line generator: not necessarily a tool, but this subject line generator by Neville Medhora is pretty fantastic! You’ll definitely find plenty of headlines you can use. Try the subject line generator here.
  • Email signature: Need to beef up your email signature? Look no further. Scribe is an easy tool to add a smart and sexy signature to your emails (their words, not mine ). Try Scribe-Email here.
  • Webstories: I just installed this and think it’s worth testing. This is a plugin by Google for WordPress to create “stories” (like FB & IG), but they show up in search! Get the free plugin here.

Worth Listening to 🎧

I may give this podcast episode a second listen. It was SO good. I love the idea of using internet income to fund additional businesses. And of course, they’re talking about the power of newsletters. Listen to Nathan Barry talk to Tiago Forte talk about growing a $1M a year newsletter & brainstorming a second brain here.

For the coaches and service providers: If you’ve ever had a client that doesn’t do the work or get you the deliverables, this episode is for you. Christine Kane shares her 5 questions you can as

This never gets old… 🤣
