#FtheHustle 010 ~January 7, 2021 January 7, 2021 /
The first newsletter of 2021…
Even with all the uncertainty going on, I feel clearer than ever. The noisier the world gets the more focused I feel.
Which brings me to the direction for #FtheHustle.
I’m going to test out a little different format for this issue and will probably be tweaking it for the next month.
If you have suggestions or features that you’d like to see I would LOVE to hear from you. As I’ve been digging more and more into newsletters (and subscribing to more myself), I know what I like, but if there is something that would be more valuable to YOU that’s what I want to provide
I’m in the process of cleaning up my ConvertKit account, will be sending out a survey, and starting to segment my subscribers. Ideally, you’ll only get what you’re most interested in. It’s going to be a process, so I’m just going to ask you to be patient with me.
This is a new lead magnet (email course), that I’ll be releasing by next Monday. This is a 7-part email course with accompanying audio. This will be available to everyone on my list already, you won’t have to opt-in or have it delivered over 7 days (which is how new subscribers will receive it).
I’ll share some behind-the-scenes with you only (not a public post), on why I’ve created this and how it’s set up.
I’ll provide a private link where you can access this (you will have to be an existing subscriber to access it).
A Little Brainpower 🧠
I don’t know about you, but I’m starting to feel some burn out and exhaustion with social media (for myself as well as a general message). This author thinks that “Instagram is Dead (It Just Doesn’t Know It).”
I think we’ve all been guilty of using a boring call-to-action (CTA) or the generic “click here” (and let’s face it, those still work, just maybe not as good as something else). Anne Handley shares “The Best Marketing CTA (And Why It Works So Well).”
Tool Time 🛠
Probably not surprising, but this tends to be the most clicked through feature of the newsletter. There might be some reruns here as I continue testing the format.
- Tripetto for WordPress: FINALLY! A beautiful Typeform style plugin for WordPress! And SO easy to use! I’m in love. Favorite new plugin!
- Studiocart: A new alternative to WooCommerce for WordPress carts and funnels! I haven’t tried this yet, but am going to.
- WebinarKit: I know I’ve shared this before, but they’re releasing live webinars (in addition to evergreen). Great pricing still!
- Thrive Architect: build your own funnel pages in WordPress with Thrive Architect (the very first page builder I ever used! Still love it).
For Your Earbuds 🎧
I’m going all-in with email marketing this year. Listen to “Why I’m Excited to Double-Down on Email Marketing (And You Should Too) KDS: 063“
YES to “Just Starting!” I don’t know about you, but the more I think about something (without taking action), the more likely it is to NOT happen. Listen to “Just Start” with Ryan Daniel Moran.

We’ve all been here, right?

Thanks as always for your support Tess!
Newsletters I’m Reading 🤓
- The WP Weekly is my favorite WordPress newsletter, even if some of the code and dev stuff is over my head.
- Contrarian Thinking, by Codie Sanchez. A mix of finance, marketing, and out of the box thinking.
- For The Interested, by Josh Spector. Life, marketing, productivity, and creativity.
Maybe next week I’ll include a section called “social media I’m avoiding”… 🤣
Or… T.V. shows I’m rewatching (currently on “Elementary” again).
And lastly, best laid plans…
I’m still finalizing the referral program for the newsletter, so look for more info. on that in a solo email next week and at the bottom of the newsletter in the next issue. It’s pretty easy to use (I’m using Sparkloop to run the referral program), I’m simply finalizing the rewards.
Have a fantastic day my friends,
