Happy New Year! 🥂
Whew, we made it!
At times it felt like this year was never going to end and at other times it felt like it was going too fast.
Either way, we’re here.
2021!
It’s been a few years since I’ve taken the time to do some reflecting and look back at how the year went. I used to do a “year in review” podcast every year, which was always fun, but the last couple of years were personally hard so I skipped it.
This year?
It’s back baby!
But with a little different spin (link below under “for your listening pleasure”).
One of the things that surprised me the most when I did look back at accomplishments for this year was that the ones I felt most proud of weren’t the external wins (course sales, etc.).
It was the internal work I did for myself that has made all the difference in the world.
Which supports everything I believe about creating and scaling a successful business.
You need a solid foundation to build from.
Whether you’re just getting started or are revamping things in your business, there are certain things that once they’re in place will make all the difference in the world.
And that includes work we do on ourselves, which is ultimately for ourselves. Doing that allows us to #JustShowUP and truly serve.
Here’s to a wonderful year of focus, growth, and hopefully some more real-life, in-person connections.
A Little Brainpower ðŸ§
In a world where we are bombarded with information and constant distractions pulling at our attention, it’s easy to forget what truly makes us happy (and then do that). Happiness (and joy) shapes who we are and what we pursue. In fact, even Albert Einstein agrees. Read “Einstein’s Formula for a Happy Life” here.

Speaking of a happy life, I couldn’t agree more with this article (and I think it’s why I love what I do so much… I’m always learning). Whether you like trying new food, meeting new people, or learning a new skill… all of that improves your life. Read “Curiosity is the Secret to a Happy Life” here.

Tool Time ðŸ›
Ready to start selling directly from your WordPress site, but don’t need something as robust as WooCommerce? Enter Studiocart! I’m going to be diving into this over the next couple of weeks, but it looks fantastic! Easily build funnels, checkout pages, upsells, and more! Checkout the AppSumo deal on Studiocart here.

Keeping up with my obsession with all things newsletter related… (yes, I’m still working on an in-depth post. Stay tuned!). There are plenty of newsletter directories and promotion opportunities popping up and I just recently came across this free cross-promotion tool (I haven’t submitted yet, but wanted to share it). Check out Pipewing for Newsletter cross-promotion here.
For Your Listening Pleasure 🎧
As mentioned above, I recorded and published my last episode of 2020 looking back on accomplishments, goals, and much gratitude! There’s nothing like taking stock of what went well and things you’re appreciative of. Listen to “Accomplishments, Goals, and Thankfully a New Year KDS: 062” here.

For those of you who are all about self-responsibility, you’re going to love this episode of the Marketing Secrets podcast with Russell Brunson. I couldn’t agree more about taking stepping up, making decisions, and taking responsibility. Listen to “RANT: Leaders Need to Make Decisions – Period” here.
Because We All Need More Books 📕
I came across author Ken Honda after watching a MindValley webinar on wealth. I didn’t buy his course, but couldn’t resist his book “Happy Money” – the Japanese art of making peace with your money (which is a refreshing approach from western culture). Read “Happy Money” by Ken Honda here.

Understanding what motivates people to buy and how you can serve your audience best means going a little deeper. This book is one that should be in every entrepreneur’s library. If you want to understand influence and persuasion better, read Robert Cialdini’s book “Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion” here.

I’m starting to think I am WAY too easily amused… 🤣

This really cracked me up.
And that’s a wrap!
Next week I’ll be sharing the BRAND NEW referral program for #FtheHustle, where you can get free access to swag as well as premium training by referring people to the newsletter (I’ll be sharing the behind-the-scenes of creating, launching, and growing the referral program once it’s running).
We’re setting up a referral program for Creativity Published for the Content Creators Planner as well. I’m really looking forward to figuring this all out.
Here’s to wishing you and your loved ones a very Happy New Year and may we all have a safe and prosperous 2021.
In gratitude,
Kim

LMAO that status image is freakin’ hilarious! Apparently, I’m easily amused, too
HAHA… glad it’s not just me Annie! 🤣
These days I’ll take all the easy amusement I can find!
