Did You Lose Your Shizzle When the Internet Broke?
I wasn’t on social media when the Internet broke yesterday.
Well, technically it wasn’t the Internet. It was just Amazon S3.
But apparently, people were losing their shizzle. Don’t get me wrong, I get panicking if you have a launch or something major happening.
Or if you’re spending money driving traffic to a page that has a bunch of holes (i.e, missing images), then you’re not going to be too happy.
But at the end of the day, flipping out online isn’t going to get S3 working again. Here’s a little GIF that pretty much sums up what happened yesterday (you know me, I love me some giphy):
How perfect was that image?
It cracks me up and is soooo applicable.
Put your feet on the ground, it’s all good.
It’s so easy to go into panic mode when things don’t go as planned. The funny thing is that things not going according to plan are pretty much the norm when you have an online business.
How many times have you gone to do something and next thing you know it’s 4 hours later, you’ve logged into a handful of apps, you’ve got Word or Google docs open, you’ve dropped a question into Skype asking someone something, and next thing you know you’re back to your original task?
Think back to the last time you created a new lead magnet for your site.
You create the lead magnet (content, design, format).
Now you need to:
– add the opt-in to your site
– create the landing page, opt-in boxes, etc.
– set everything up in your autoresponder (email sequences, tags, etc.)
– tie it all together
– test it
No matter how many times I’ve done this I always seem to forget one step or element to this process.
Which is why I created a checklist for myself.
I put it into a mini-course for you on building your opt-in funnel.
I’ve got another mini-course I’m working on for you about Thrive Leads (so much awesomeness with that plugin), but in the meantime, you can get your opt-in funnel up and grow your audience.
I may bundle these in the future, I haven’t decided.
I do cover creating your Thrive Leads box in this training, so you won’t be left hanging with how to do that.
