A Real & Raw Conversation with Lorraine McNulty KDS: 029

Lorraine McNulty

I’ve been talking about mixing up the podcast for a while, but I wasn’t sure what that would look like.

When I started paying attention to what I was listening to and what I liked, it wasn’t necessarily the interview style shows. I’ll continue doing interviews still, but probably a little less frequently.

This conversation came about after I was having a private message with my friend Lorraine McNulty on Facebook Messenger. I had witnessed something in my Facebook Group that didn’t sit well with me (didn’t go against any direct posting guidelines, but there was something about it that bugged me).

Lorraine messaged me commenting on the posting (she’s a moderator in my group, thankfully) and I instantly felt validated.

I exclaimed ‘THANK YOU!”

Because I thought it was just me.

That conversation is what led to us having a conversation about the current state of online marketing and where we’re heading. We had a handful of people join us live…

I think you’re going to enjoy this.

Here are a few of the topics we discussed:

  • The state of online marketing today
    • What’s working
    • What’s not working
  • Pet Peeves
    • Too much noise
    • No value
    • Talking at people
    • Pontificating
  • Building Business on your terms
    • Stop complaining about what other people are doing
    • Watch & learn
    • If you don’t like it, don’t watch it
  • Where things are heading
    • Storytelling
    • Tighter communities (think quality vs. quantity)
    • It’s not about the tools you use

I’ll be adding more of these types of conversations to the podcast, so I’d really love your feedback and thoughts about this style of the show.
